February Kaleidoscope

Revision to our February Valentine’s Day related Kaleidoscope plans: 

Noon lunch at Apple Orchard Inn on Saturday, February 8, located on Van Dyke, just South of 29 Mile Road. Please bring your favorite Valentine’s Day memories to share. Feel free to tour Romeo on your own before or carpool after to shop in Romeo, get your Valentine envelopes stamped at the post office on Church Street with a special stamp and/or visit the library next door for half priced used books (some as little as 13 cents after discount). March Kaleidoscope

Synopsis: This Neil Simon play is based on his experiences with the Sid Caesar’s “Your Show of Shows” and features his trademark rapid-fire wisecracks. The main character is the star of a popular 1950s comedy-variety series.  However, the network executives think it is too sophisticated for the Midwest and want him to dumb down his act. While the writers are frantically scrambling to top each other’s gags, the main character begins to unravel due to the tensions and executive meddling.
